# Shutterbug Sweets The FujiFilm X100 Cake was Baked for Photographer Gary Cruz's Birthday By Meghan Young | Published 2011-06-10 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-x100-cake References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2011/06/08/fujifilm-x100-cake/) & [flickr](http://www.flickr.com/photos/garycruz/5811785990/in/set-72157626914349976/) Birthdays should always be special, and the [FujiFilm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-evo-camera) X100 Cake really made it special for one particular birthday boy. Baked for photographer Gary Cruz, this cake is not only unique, but it also is a replica of what I am going to assume is his favorite camera. Created by his bakery-owning wife Beverly Cruz, the FujiFilm X100 Cake is quite the feat. Extremely true to the actual camera, the cake includes intricate details such as ridges, dials and even writing. Not only that, but the colors are dead-on as well. Considering that cakes are becoming more and more of an art form thanks to TV shows like TLC's 'Cake Boss' and [Food Network's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heinen) 'Ace of Cakes,' I'm sure more like cakes like the FujiFilm X100 Cake are in store. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Artistic Cakes:** The rise of TV shows focused on cake decorating is inspiring a trend of highly detailed and visually impressive cakes. - **Replica Cakes:** The demand for realistic and accurate cake replicas of objects or items is growing, offering unique and personalized celebration options. - **Photography Themes:** Incorporating a person's passion for photography into cakes and other celebratory items is becoming a popular trend. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Bakery:** Bakeries can tap into the growing trend of artistic cakes by offering custom design services for clients looking for unique and personalized celebration cakes. - **Photography:** Photography businesses can explore collaborations with bakeries to create customized cakes for photography enthusiasts' birthdays or special events. - **Television and Media:** TV networks can capitalize on the trend of replica cakes by featuring cake decorating shows that highlight the creation of realistic and visually impressive cake replicas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Japanese Mountain Range Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-fuji-chocolate-cake.md) - [Celebratory Photography Camera Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-evo-camera.md) - [Giftable Cake Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cake-puzzle.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Design-Centric Dynamic Artful Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake.md) - [Cardboard-Resembling Illusion Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-cake.md) - [Vintage-Modern Sleek Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilmxe5.md) - [All-Occasion Layered Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cake.md) - [Robotic Wedding Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robocake.md)
