The ice cream cake will arrive into Publix Bakery freezers as a round, 46-fluid-ounce version that serves six to 10 people, and boasts chocolate and vanilla ice cream with Carvel Crunchies as a finishing touch. This summer, we’re excited to bring that nostalgia into homes in a new way, providing families who aren’t near a Carvel shoppe the opportunity to celebrate the moments that matter most.” Image Credit: Carvel/I Love Icecream Cakes ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 77% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Nostalgic Dessert Revivals:** Legacy treats with recognizable histories create openings for premium frozen products that convert childhood memories into convenient at-home celebrations. - **Retail-ready Celebration Cakes:** Supermarket freezer formats are expanding the reach of occasion-based desserts by making specialty bakery experiences available beyond dedicated storefronts. - **Character-led Food Branding:** Familiar dessert mascots and visual icons strengthen emotional shelf appeal while supporting differentiated product extensions in crowded frozen aisles. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Frozen Desserts:** Iconic ice cream cake formats signal potential for modernized frozen novelties that combine heritage recipes, portion flexibility, and family-oriented occasions. - **Grocery Retail:** Bakery freezer sections are becoming discovery zones for exclusive branded desserts that merge convenience shopping with limited-time emotional appeal. - **Food Licensing:** Archived characters and legacy product names provide intellectual property pathways for packaged food launches that feel both collectible and familiar. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Festive Cream Cheese Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheesecake-and-cinnamon-frosting.md) - [Wintery Holiday Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/publix-ice-cream.md) - [Frozen Snack Cake Sandwiches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-debbie-ice-cream-sandwiches.md) - [Ice Cream Branding Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ice-cream-cakes.md) - [Everyday Indulgence Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/publix-ice-creams.md) - [Liqueur-Inspired Ice Cream Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baileys-cream-ice-cream-cake.md) - [Free-From Frozen Yogurt Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frozen-yogurt-cakes.md) - [Ultra-Sweet Cream Cheese Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philidelphia-cream-cheese.md) - [Limited-Time Birthday Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/40th-anniversary-lineup.md)
