# Produce-Shaped Cutout Dishware The Fruit Template is Deceptively Two-Dimensional By Meghan Young | Published 2012-05-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fruit-template References: [bookofjoe](http://www.bookofjoe.com/2012/05/limited-edition-fruit-template.html) & [onepercentproducts](http://onepercentproducts.com/en/online_store/detail.php?id=14) The limited edition Fruit-Template is a fruit bowl that looks deceptively two-dimensional. Like a plain white sheet of paper that has produce-shaped cutouts, it appears to be more of a kid's school project than an actual piece of dishware. Nevertheless, the Fruit-Template fruit bowl is capable of holding the items represented in its cutouts, if in a rather unorthodox way. Created by the 1% design studio, the Fruit-Template fruit bowl is made out of steel, not paper. Forming a triangle, it stands straight up so that people can place specific fruit into each hole. Instead of piling them on top of each other, the Fruit-Template fruit bowl puts them on display. Available in black and white, only 100 pieces were made. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Two-dimensional Dishware:** Explore the potential of creating dishware that uses two-dimensional cutouts to enhance visual appeal and functionality. - **Unique Fruit Display:** Rethink traditional fruit bowls by designing innovative displays that showcase individual fruits in a creative way. - **Limited Edition Collectibles:** Tap into the market for limited edition dishware that combines artistic design with functional features. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Kitchenware:** Invent new designs and materials for kitchen utensils and dishware that push the boundaries of aesthetics and functionality. - **Home Decor:** Revamp home decor items like fruit bowls to add a touch of creativity and uniqueness to living spaces. - **Art and Design Collectibles:** Explore the intersection of art and collectibles by producing limited edition dishware that attracts art enthusiasts and collectors alike. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mushroom-Based Fruit Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mycoworks-fruit-bowl.md) - [Dynamic Colored Glass Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tip-top-glass.md) - [Fruit-Inspired Design Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-grounds.md) - [Sculptural Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-of-tangible-spaces.md) - [Multifunctional Kitchen Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/latticeboard-multipurpose-kitchen-board.md) - [Fruit-Inspired Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fruitinspired-furniture-collection.md) - [Imperfect Pasta Bowl Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pasta-bowl.md) - [Geometric Cutout Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designated-table.md) - [Flat-Packed Sleek Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurea.md)
