Pluk's frame is made out of two interweaving circles crafted out of sailboat-grade elastic. This design allows fruits and vegetables to be held safely in the basket but it also makes it easy for them to be plucked. The Pluk fruit-basket is suspended from the ceiling, making it a good option for kitchens and dining rooms with limited space. It comes in plastic or handcrafted wooden versions, which are both dishwasher-safe. The plastic version is offered in a range of colors including pink, red, blue, fuchsia and yellow. The makers of the Pluk fruit-basket are currently raising money on [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chong-shop) to fund the production of their product. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Ceiling-hanging Storage:** The Pluk fruit-basket provides a new solution for limited kitchen and dining room space by utilizing ceiling-hanging storage. - **Sustainable Fruit Storage:** The sailboat-grade elastic material used in the Pluk fruit-basket could inspire sustainable and eco-friendly fruit storage technology. - **Multi-functional Fruit Storage:** The Pluk fruit-basket's design that keeps fruit fresh longer and allows for easy plucking presents an opportunity for multi-functional fruit storage innovation. ### Where This Applies - **Home Goods:** The Pluk fruit-basket can enhance the home goods industry's storage and organization solutions for small spaces. - **Furniture:** The ceiling-hanging feature of the Pluk fruit-basket could inspire furniture makers to design more innovative and versatile home storage options. - **Agriculture:** The Pluk fruit-basket's design that keeps fruit fresh could inspire the agriculture industry to explore new ways to package fruit for longer shelf-life and reduced food waste. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Saving Storage Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kossebar.md) - [Green Produce-Preserving Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freshworks-produce-saver.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Delicate Basket Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculpture.md) - [Rotating Shopper Baskets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-concept.md) - [Water Catch-Integrated Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hemisphere.md) - [Rotating Food Storage Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saveit.md) - [Fragrance-Defusing Hanger Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ploud-hanger.md) - [Ceiling-Mounted Laundry Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goodliving.md)
