# Rustic Tiny Homes The 'Front Range' Home Sits On a Custom Two-Wheel Trailer By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2015-05-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/front-range References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/front-range-rocky-mountain-tiny-houses/37595/) & [rockymountaintinyhouses](http://rockymountaintinyhouses.com/) The Front Range is the latest tiny home creation by Colorado-based company Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses. This house sits on a custom-made 5.4-meter two-wheel trailer, and while it is only around half the length of its predecessors, it also costs about half as much which is fair. This tiny home is packed with old-world rustic charm. Its exterior has a vertical cedar plank that sides on the upper section and cedar lap siding on the lower part. The doors, windows and metal siding are all crafted out of reclaimed materials, while a sloping roof allows for efficient rainwater runoff. Tiny homes are fast transitioning from novelty to commonplace, necessitating that new tiny homes must have some special features that make them stand out. With its combination of old-world charm and modern features, the Front Range certainly fits the bill. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Rustic Tiny Homes:** Tiny homes with old-world charm and modern features are gaining popularity. - **Reclaimed Materials:** Crafting doors, windows and metal siding out of reclaimed materials is becoming a trend in tiny home construction. - **Efficient Use of Space:** Innovative space-saving features are becoming more common in tiny home design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Construction:** The tiny home construction industry is experiencing growth as the popularity of tiny homes increases. - **Interior Design:** With limited space in tiny homes, interior design experts are finding innovative ways to maximize space and functionality. - **Eco-friendly Living:** The use of reclaimed materials and efficient space design in tiny homes supports the trend of eco-friendly living. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [National Park-Inspired Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basecamp-tiny-house.md) - [Cottage-Style Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timbercraft-tiny-homes-ynez.md) - [Spacious Cottage-Like Luxe Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-sky.md) - [Compact Space-Saving Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hartley-tiny-house.md) - [Cottage-Inspired Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rover-tiny-homes-tulameen.md) - [Compact Double-Axle Trailer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agatha.md) - [Compact Luxurious Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perpetua.md) - [Compact Affordable Portable Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rogue-tiny-house.md) - [Cottage-Like Luxurious Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hidden-mountain-tiny-villa.md)
