# Digital Sticky Reminders FriendlyStack Reminder Brings Emails to Life as Playful Desktop Notes By Amy Duong | Published 2025-07-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/friendlystack-reminder References: [friendlystack](https://friendlystack.com/) The FriendlySTACK Reminder is a delightful DIY desktop gadget that transforms your emails into real-time [digital sticky notes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/notes-on-screen), turning the mundane flow of communication into something visual, interactive, and easy to track. Developed by tech tinkerer and designer Matt Webb, [STACK](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stack-furniture-collection) is a [compact e-paper display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minitoo-retro-pc-style) housed in a wood block enclosure, resembling a tiny digital billboard made for reminders. The magic happens through a Gmail integration: when an email is labeled “STACK,” the subject line appears almost instantly on the display as a digital note. When the task is done, simply remove the label to clear the message from your device. Created with modularity and minimalism in mind, STACK runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero and Inky pHAT e-paper display, making it accessible for DIYers and productivity fans alike. It’s an elegant alternative to messy Post-its and clunky notifications, bringing a bit of charm to task tracking while maintaining a clean desktop aesthetic.
