The unit features a [paper fan design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plissade) that comes in two size options and is capable of being popped open for use whenever required to immediately divide a workstation. The stylish, noninvasive design of the divider will provide privacy without completely eliminating the social factor of working in [open-concept offices or public spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ma-camilla-isabel-reyes). The 'Friendly Border' is the design work of Njustudio and features an ultra-portable form that can be easily tucked away when not being used or even taken with the user between locations for impromptu privacy when required. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pop-up Privacy Shades:** The technology behind these shades could be applied in a variety of settings, such as in schools, libraries or hospitals, where privacy and concentration may be vital. - **Ultra-portable Room Dividers:** This technology could be employed in homes or shared office spaces, increasing floor space and having more flexible working areas. - **Design for Public Spaces:** This technology could be adapted to create other objects that enhance the social factor of open-concept offices or public spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Office Furniture and Design:** This technology is an opportunity to innovate portable partitions and privacy tools for modern and open-concept offices. - **Shared Spaces:** This technology is an opportunity to innovate in the shared spaces subsector, from coworking spaces to libraries, and everything in between. - **Interior Decoration:** This technology is an opportunity to innovate with in-home room dividers that adapt to different space needs and enhance the user's privacy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Design-Conscious Office Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calm-collection.md) - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Avian-Inspired Privacy Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peacock-chair-concept.md) - [Soft-Sided Cocoon Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buddyhub-desk.md) - [Mobile Professional Workstation Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-desk-divider.md) - [Comical Desk-Side Status Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-fence.md) - [Contemporary Privacy Screen Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calm-system.md) - [Relaxed Anti-Distraction Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortune-chair.md) - [Playful Desk Partitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-partitions.md)
