# Artistic Modern Psychedelia Fantastically Strange 'Fried Paintings' by Michael Williams By TrendHead | Published 2009-01-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fried-paintings-new-artworks-by-michael-williams References: [christinawilson.net](http://www.christinawilson.net) “Fried Paint” is the title of American artist, Michael Williams' third [solo exhibition](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery), which is hosted by the highly esteemed gallery Christina Wilson, located in Copenhagen, Denmark. I think these [oil paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yolo-paint) are fantastic and weird at the same time. You cannot help but imagine the artist painting these scenarios while eating magic mushrooms and tripping out to [Pink Floyd](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magicos2). How else would you come up with the subject of a lobster surfing the internet with his buddy the Clam? Incidentally, the painting with a middle-aged snorkeler reminds me of a famous children’s cartoon movie from the 70s called “Bennys Badekar”, which was highly influenced by psychedelia.
