The Free Form Ruler is a pen designed with an internal ruler that measures how long your lines are. The Free Form Ruler has an [adjustable digital display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enso-tape) that shows measurements in either centimeters, millimeters or inches. The Free Form Ruler would be particularly useful for fashion designers and contractors, who often find themselves needing to make [accurate on-the-spot measurements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lidar). As with all awesome designs, the Free Form Ruler is unfortunately still a concept. Hopefully Monocomplex will find a way to start cranking out Free Form Rulers like there's no tomorrow. I don't want to live in a world that requires both [a pen and a ruler](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pockitrod) to make accurate measurements. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Combined Tools:** The trend of combining multiple tools into one creates disruptive innovation opportunities for increased efficiency and convenience. - **Smart Measuring Devices:** The emergence of smart measuring devices with digital displays opens up opportunities for precise and automated measurements. - **Integrated Design Solutions:** The trend towards integrated design solutions that seamlessly merge functionality and usability provides opportunities for innovative product concepts. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Stationery Industry:** The stationery industry can explore the integration of writing utensils with other tools to offer multifunctional products for improved customer experience. - **Fashion Industry:** The fashion industry can benefit from the development of smart measuring devices that simplify and enhance the process of measuring fabric and creating patterns. - **Construction Industry:** The construction industry can capitalize on the concept of integrated design solutions to create innovative tools that combine measuring and drawing capabilities for increased productivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Refill-Friendly Ruler Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combined-ruler-and-pen.md) - [Curvaceous Analog Designer Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rulerc-concept.md) - [Digital Design Desktop Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neoruler.md) - [Haute Hybrid Designer Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rotio-compass-and-ruler.md) - [Magnifying Measurement Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fun-sizes-ruler.md) - [Multifunctional Angular Desktop Rulers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexagonal-ruler-set.md) - [Smart Measuring Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hozos-neorulergo.md) - [Geometric Dynamic Stationary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexagonal-ruler.md) - [Hybrid Angled Stationary Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/25-ruler.md)
