The city has the highest level of air pollution in the UK, caused by the high amount of daily traffic coming in and out of the city. Councillor Alan Bradley said: "Putting [free charging points on the street](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rheinmetall-curb-charger) where people need them most is a simple concept which we hope will help galvanise broader appeal for [electric car use](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chargepoint-essential-cloud-plan). London, and particularly Westminster, has well documented problems with air quality and electric cars are an excellent way to start dealing with that." Agreed!! I wonder when Jakarta will have those.. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Free Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles:** The rise of free charging stations will encourage more people to purchase electric cars, leading to more sustainable transportation options. - **Sustainable Transportation:** Investments in sustainable transportation options, such as free charging stations for electric cars, will become increasingly popular among environmentally-conscious consumers. - **Air Pollution Reduction:** Free charging stations can contribute to air pollution reduction efforts in cities with high levels of traffic and air pollution. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure:** Companies that specialize in the installation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging infrastructure will see an increase in demand as more free charging stations are implemented. - **Automotive Industry:** As the use of electric cars continues to rise, the automotive industry will need to focus more heavily on the production and innovation of electric vehicle technologies. - **Energy Industry:** The implementation of free charging stations will require energy providers to develop more sustainable and efficient energy sources to power electric vehicles, leading to new opportunities for innovation in the energy sector. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Eco EV Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retail-and-electric-vehicle-charging-station.md) - [Street Lamp Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamppost-ev-charger.md) - [Hyper-Fast Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charging-station-1.md) - [Sustainable EV Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/change-wind-corporation.md) - [Unwinding Multifunctional Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/better-energy-charge.md) - [Dedicated Electric Vehicle Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-vehicle-station.md) - [Accessible EV Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessible-ev-charging-station.md) - [Artistic Lamppost EV Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voltpost.md) - [Electric Car-Charging Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batteryelectric-vehicles.md)
