Rather than sitting down and beatboxing for money, the young gentleman offers Free Beats and a chance for passersby to get involved. He sets up a microphone stand and welcomes anyone to come by and do a little [jam session with him](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jammin). The result is a number of colorful characters who provide some of the most entertaining spontaneous acts I've ever seen. Participants come from all walks of life, demonstrating that there's some hidden talent in the Big Apple. The Free Beats clip was shot in New York's Union Square. Who knows, maybe if you make a visit there, you'll be able to participate too! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Interactive Performance:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating interactive experiences that involve audience participation. - **Spontaneous Acts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing platforms or events that showcase and promote impromptu talent performances. - **Community Engagement:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Facilitating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect and collaborate through creative expression. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating interactive elements into traditional entertainment performances. - **Event Planning:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating unique experiences that encourage audience participation at events. - **Talent Discovery:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Leveraging technology to uncover hidden talent and provide platforms for them to showcase their skills. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Outdoor Singalong Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-rock-and-roll-playhouse.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Album-Centric Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bandlab-x-d4vd.md) - [Beatboxing Robot Dogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dj-beat-boxer.md) - [Jazzy Play-Along Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playalong-app.md) - [Pocket-Sized Beat Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stylophone-beat.md) - [Collaborative Playlist Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1beatclub.md) - [Neighborhood Music Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/summer-music-in-the-park.md)
