# Energy-Generating Eco Sculptures Huge Fred George Design is a Green Symb-Oil for Peace By Jordan M | Published 2011-01-10 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fred-george References: [greenmuze](http://www.greenmuze.com/art/artists/3438-solar-peace-sculptures.html) & [solarpeacesculpture](http://www.solarpeacesculpture.com/) This Fred George giant solar peace sign sculpture is a big statue with a big statement: oil dependency is a dangerous crutch with a murky past. Rather than being just another symbolic protest that doesn't do anything to actually help solve the problem, the [giant piece of artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-birk) has over 80 [solar panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tower-1) on it that feed energy directly into the city's [energy grid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-electric-pavilion). Right now one of the models exists in New York City, but other similar models of Fred George's structure will soon appear in other countries like China and Germany. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 22% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Energy-generating Art Installations:** The integration of solar panels into public art installations can provide a sustainable energy source and promote environmental awareness. - **Renewable Energy Infrastructure:** Creating infrastructure that feeds energy from public structures like art installations and buildings into city energy grids can help promote a sustainable future. - **Socially Conscious Art:** Art installations with a clear message of social and environmental activism can be leveraged to inspire change and prompt action. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Public Art and Sculpture:** The integration of renewable energy into public art installations creates a unique and sustainable attraction that can drive tourism and raise environmental awareness. - **Energy and Utilities:** The integration of renewable energy infrastructure into city grids requires collaboration with energy and utility companies, creating opportunities for partnerships and innovation. - **Environmental Activism:** Collaborating with environmental organizations can help promote and support socially conscious art installations that bring attention to important issues and inspire change. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Energy-Generating Park Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/energy-park.md) - [Future-Facing Sculptural Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-of-the-future.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Colorful Aerial Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clean-power-campaign.md) - [Tree-Inspired Solar Panel Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarbotanic-energy-tree.md) - [Peace-Centric Oversized Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-head.md) - [Climate-Awareness Soft Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamstones.md) - [Gem-Like Sculptural Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cylindrical-lenses.md) - [Grid-Connected Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-electric-pavilion.md)
