# Convertible Chairs Franklin Chair Stepladder Lets You Reach and Relax By Andrew Robichaud | Published 2009-07-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/franklin-chair-stepladder References: [craziestgadgets](http://craziestgadgets.com/2009/07/20/franklin-chair-stepladder/) Reaching up to grab any household item can be an exhausting endeavour (ha…it’s a segue okay?). At the end of it all you just want to sit down. The Franklin Chair and Stepladder is a convertible chair that switches between (you betcha!) a chair and a stepladder. The design is a chair first and a stepladder second (usually the other way) which is very evident based on the cool chair look (and the awkward stepladder look). It’s convenient home décor that is sure to come in handy more than once (probably more than a lot of home accessories). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Convertible Furniture:** Designing furniture that can transform between multiple functions offers opportunities for convenient and space-saving solutions. - **Dual-purpose Design:** Creating products with multiple functionalities provides versatility and added value for consumers. - **Home Accessory Innovation:** Developing innovative home accessories that are practical and aesthetically pleasing can enhance everyday living experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore creating convertible furniture to meet the increasing demand for versatile and space-saving designs. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate dual-purpose products like convertible chairs into their projects to optimize space and functionality. - **Home Decor Retail:** Retailers specializing in home decor can curate a collection of innovative home accessories, including convertible chairs, to cater to customers seeking practical and stylish solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Adventurous Versatile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat.md) - [Recycled Scissor-Like Folding Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauld-chair.md) - [Dual-Purpose Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-a.md) - [Hybrid Sit-Stand Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lean-on-chair-concept.md) - [Expanding Three-in-One Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expandy.md) - [Reimagined Traditional Library Ladders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/step-by-step-ladder.md) - [Legless Floor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-chair.md) - [Convertible Kids Ladder Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/convertible-helper-tower.md)
