By using old computer parts such as circuit boards, Recchia has recreated miniature cityscapes of Manhattan, Boston and Pittsburgh. An Italian artist, Franco Recchia essentially breathes new life into old computer components. Not only do his mixed-media sculptures show his skill and talent, they also demonstrate expert re-purposing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Upcycling Electronics:** Repurposing old computer parts for art and sculpture. - **Futuristic Art:** Combining technology with art to create futuristic sculptures. - **Sustainability in Art:** Using recycled materials like old computer parts to create sustainable art. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists and designers to incorporate upcycling into their work. - **Technology:** Companies can explore ways to repurpose old technology parts for other industries. - **Environmental Sustainability:** Opportunity for companies to incorporate upcycling and sustainability into their practices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Laser-Cut Urban Artistry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-cut-city-maps.md) - [Repurposed Vintage Apple Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repurposed-vintage-apple-computers.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Printed Circuit Sconces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-circuit.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Retro Arcade Circuit Boards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atari-1.md) - [Whimsical Sculptural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-block-series.md) - [Abandoned Bikes-Turned Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames.md) - [Paper-Made Dissolvable E-Waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pape.md)
