For anyone living in a city, construction is frustratingly ubiquitous, and Thomas Schnur's 'The Fragments of the Ordinary' furniture series takes that civil service as its inspiration. The series, which includes [tables, seating and a room divider](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archetypes), makes explicit reference to various urban and rural construction objects and practices.

For example, The Fragments of the Ordinary includes a small bedside table with the apposite name of 'Brick Table.' Covered in a bright yellow piece of plywood on the top and bottom (that color itself being a reference to protective construction helmets,) the table is made up of [concrete bricks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ancora) like at a construction site.

On the other hand, the Holzbank and Forest chairs are made entirely from [raw wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no1-common), with a Lincoln log design that references construction with wood.
