The entirety of the virtual concert took place within the world of Fortnite, a free-to-play video game that's currently one of the most popular in the world. Ordinarily, players are pitted against one another in a test of survival, but for the special event, all weapons were disabled and players were able to enjoy the music without re-spawning.

Fortnite has also started a phenomenon with its [in-game dances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fall-guys-x-fortnite), many of which players were able to use as they tuned into the virtual concert.
