The wildlife-friendly birdhouse alarm was developed by Spanish insurance firm Generali in collaboration with [Ogilvy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hellmanns-smart-jar) and Mathers designers. The home for birds incorporates lots of technology within a waterproof box, including a 3G sim card, Arduino and GPS locater. The tiny house essentially doubles as a [smoke alarm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meross-ma151-smart-smoke-alarm) that connects to the Internet for forest fire warning purposes. In addition to being weather-proof ,the contraption is also bird-proof. Powered by solar panels, the nature-coexisting smoke sensor could make a big difference in stopping fires faster. The birdhouses are currently being tested in Spain. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Connected Birdhouses:** The use of connected birdhouses to detect forest fires presents opportunities for the development of more specialized and innovative alert systems. - **Wildlife-friendly Alarms:** Wildlife-friendly alarm systems like these birdhouses present opportunities to develop innovative, non-invasive home monitoring solutions. - **Nature-coexisting Sensor Technology:** The development of nature-coexisting sensor technology raises opportunities to create similar systems that blend technology with nature to enhance environmental protection. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Insurance:** Insurance companies can adopt connected birdhouse technology to develop innovative solutions for remote fire detection, presenting opportunities to develop new insurance models. - **Wildlife Conservation:** Incorporating nature-coexisting sensor technology into wildlife conservation efforts presents opportunities to enhance monitoring and protection of wildlife populations. - **Smart Home Technology:** The use of wildlife-friendly alarms presents opportunities to develop innovative home monitoring systems that minimize impact on the environment and wildlife. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bird-Like CO2-Monitoring Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdie-1.md) - [Birdhouse-Integrated Address Signs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/our-common-house.md) - [Interactive Observation Wooden Birdhouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/domik-ptashki.md) - [Smart Bird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdbuddy-2-mini.md) - [Thermal Camera Fire Detectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/early-fire-detection-sensor.md) - [App-Extended Smart Birdfeeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-birdfeeder.md) - [AI-Powered Bird Feeder Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bird-feeders.md) - [Home Exterior Nesting Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/numbird.md) - [AI-Powered Smart Bird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bird-feeders1.md)
