Aside from it being constructed with lightweight, high-performance materials, the Forcite Alpine has next-level safety, communication and comfort features. Equipment that is built into the helmet includes a computer, camera and earbuds, which make it possible for wearers to record and instantly share all the action in 4K, communicate with companions who are wearing the same helmet style, stream music tracks and even take hands-free phone calls with the touch of a gloved hand. With its many sensors, the [smart helmet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sena-phantom) also helps users track airtime, altitude, distance, speed and the number of runs they've completed—all great tools for pushing performance on the slopes. Forcite Alpine is now part of a crowdfunding project on [Kickstarter](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1285447401/forcite-alpine-first-smart-helmet-for-snow-sports), which will help to bring this connected gear to snow sport enthusiasts worldwide. As a bonus to its backers, anyone who pledges more than $1,298 has the chance to get their hands on a pair of the Forcite Alpine helmets to make the most of the helmet-to-helmet communication system. Rewards for all Kickstarter campaign supporters are expected to be delivered by January 2016, which leaves plenty of time to test out the protective headgear before winter is through. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Sports Helmets:** The integration of wearable tech in sports helmets creates opportunities for recording, communication, and tracking features. - **Helmet-to-helmet Communication System:** The development of communication features in sports helmets opens opportunities for improved safety and social aspects in sports. - **Crowdfunding for Connected Gear:** The rise of crowdfunding websites creates opportunities for tech startups to validate and finance new connected sports gear products. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Sports Equipment:** Smart sports helmets are disrupting the traditional sports equipment industry, opening opportunities for innovation and tech integration. - **Wearable Technology:** The wearable technology industry expands into sports helmets, creating opportunities for developing more connected and integrated wearable products. - **Crowdfunding:** Crowdfunding platforms create new opportunities for tech startups to finance, market, and distribute connected sports gear products to consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Snow Sport Goggles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rekkie-smart-snow-goggles.md) - [AR-Enabled Ski Rescue Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/argus-ar-helmet.md) - [Connected Cyclist Safety Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unit-1-faro-smart-helmet.md) - [Communication System Snow Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sena-latitude-s1-snow-helmet.md) - [Smart Safety Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smarthat.md) - [Protective Communication Ski Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poc-obex-connect-helmet.md) - [Camera-Equipped Smart Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yashica-x-im-back-virtusx1.md) - [Camera-Equipped Smart Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/relee-m1-helmet.md) - [Tech-Enhanced Motorcycle Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardo-systems.md)
