Rather than just offering a guest bed, the mattress offers a [lounge-style sofa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-collection-1) to be used when someone isn't staying over. The floor mat design style allows it to be used as a [communal seating solution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hulala-home-elitenest) if not being used as a guest bed to increase comfort and functionality. The Milliard Tri-Fold Foam Folding Mattress is ideal for condos, apartments, dorms and even basements as a great seating solution that offers sleeping quarters in a pinch. The mattress is crafted from 'CertiPUR-US'-certified foam to ensure lasting durability with continued use over the course of the product's lifecycle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Space-saving Furniture:** The trend of smaller urban homes is creating a demand for furniture that offers multiple functionalities in a limited space. - **Convertible Furniture:** There is an increasing need for furniture that can be easily transformed from one function to another, such as a sofa that can be turned into a bed. - **Multi-purpose Seating Solutions:** Consumers are looking for seating options that can serve multiple purposes, such as a guest bed that can also be used as a lounge-style sofa. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Industry:** The furniture industry has an opportunity to develop innovative designs that cater to the needs of smaller urban homes by offering space-saving and convertible furniture. - **Home Decor Industry:** The home decor industry can leverage the trend of multi-purpose seating solutions by providing stylish and functional pieces that can be used in various settings. - **Hospitality Industry:** The hospitality industry can benefit from the demand for convertible furniture by offering versatile seating options that enhance the guest experience in hotel rooms and common areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Saving Convertible Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coddle-luke-sleeper-sofa.md) - [Compact Collapsing Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acordion-modular-sofa.md) - [Hidden Murphy Bed Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonale-murphy-bed.md) - [Sleep-Inclusive Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-capsule.md) - [Motorized Sofa Wall Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tonale.md) - [Modular Inflatable Furniture Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transforming-sofa.md) - [Comforting Adaptable Sofa Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bird-reincarnation-3way-sofa-bed.md) - [Versatile Sofa-Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neptune-sofa.md) - [Outdoor Sleep Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-mattress.md)
