Developed by a group of innovators based in Manhattan, this folding bike helmet features a series of so-called 'ribs' that use a secure joint system to hold their position, an important feature that guarantees that there's no chance of the helmet folding or part-folding when you're wearing it. Despite its exceptional compactness and innovative [folding mechanism](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-cup), the Fend helmet surpasses safety standards, making it an excellent example of [helmet design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumos-nyxel) managing to raise the bar in terms of both safety and convenience. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Folding Bike Helmets:** The trend of folding bike helmets offers a convenient and space-saving solution for cyclists. - **Secure Joint Systems:** The trend of secure joint systems in folding bike helmets ensures that the helmet remains intact and safe during use. - **Compact and Safe Design:** The trend of compact and safe helmet designs introduces innovative solutions for balancing convenience and protection. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Cycling Accessories:** The cycling accessories industry can benefit from incorporating folding bike helmets into their product offerings to cater to space-conscious cyclists. - **Safety Equipment:** The safety equipment industry can explore opportunities to enhance helmet designs by adopting secure joint systems for increased safety. - **Product Design:** The product design industry has the potential to create disruptive innovations by developing compact and safe designs for various products, inspired by folding bike helmets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flatpack Cyclist Safety Equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmet-concept.md) - [Inflatable Accordion-Style Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ventete-ah1.md) - [Collapsible Space-Saving Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipclip-go-helmet.md) - [Origami-Style Cyclist Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raba-helmet.md) - [Folding Smart Helmet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-helmets.md) - [Foldable Air Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ventete-ah1.md) - [Featherlight Inflatable Bike Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflabi-bike-helmet.md) - [Self-Inflating Bicycle Helmets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bumpair-20.md) - [Helmet-Secured Bike Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/on-board-helmet.md)
