# Wall Mountable Furniture Pieces These Foldable Seats Can Mount onto Walls When Not Being Used By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-05-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-seats References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/furniture-that-flattens-into-wall-art-is-perfect-for-cr-1778611002) & [jonghachoi](http://jonghachoi.com/2015/10/09/hello-world/) In an effort to make an efficient use of small spaces, Designer Jongha Choi created the 'From 2D to 3D' furniture collection that features a line of foldable seats. What makes these [small benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walle-stool) especially unique is their ability to fold sideways rather than downwards and then turn into pieces of artwork that can be [mounted onto walls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/velto). The space-saving foldable seats can be put out when the owner needs them and then mounted back onto the wall when the owner requires more space. The seats come in a variety of colors and would make useful wall-mounts in any micro-home or apartment. These foldable seats would make an excellent addition to the small homes of people who often enjoy the company of guests and would like to use space-saving techniques to make hosting easier. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Foldable Seats:** Foldable seats that can be mounted onto walls offer a space-saving solution for small homes and apartments. - **Efficient Use of Small Spaces:** The trend of creating furniture that maximizes small spaces provides opportunities for innovative designs and practical solutions. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** The concept of furniture pieces that can transform into artwork when not in use opens up possibilities for customizable and space-saving solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can benefit from creating innovative and customizable furniture designs for small spaces. - **Micro-house Construction:** The trend of building small homes and micro-apartments can be enhanced by incorporating furniture that offers space-saving solutions. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the trend of foldable seats that double as wall-mounted artwork, offering functional and stylish options for small living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-wall-desk.md) - [Space-Saving Foldable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-desk1.md) - [Storage-Friendly Origami Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kerf.md) - [Adaptive Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture.md) - [Modular Fold-Out Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-wooden-workstation.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Wall-Mounted Two-Legged Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instable-side-table.md) - [Bookcase-Equipped Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/low-wall-side-table.md) - [Minimally Refined Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desk-1.md)
