# Effervescent Floating Chairs The Flying Carpet Chair Adds a Magical Touch When Relaxing By Ariel Weber | Published 2012-12-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-carpet-chair References: [gizmodiva](http://www.gizmodiva.com/home_improvement/flying-carpet-chair-a-fairytale-experience.php) If you've ever wanted to take a ride on Aladdin's magic carpet, the flying carpet chair gives you the chance to pretend as if you had. The enchanted chair is made up of 90 rods, which supports the chair and gives it the flying carpet feel. The rods are also there to add a bit of magic to your sitting experience because the instant you sit in the chair the rods move around and conform to your body. Created by Thomas Heimann and Markus Dilger this very fascinating and whimsical chair is an experience like no other. The moment you sit down on this contraption, the flying carpet chair will have you feeling as if you are floating high above the ground and immersed in a whole new world. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Enchanted Furniture:** Opportunity for creating furniture that engages the imagination and provides a magical experience for users. - **Dynamic Ergonomics:** Potential to develop chairs that adapt and conform to the user's body for enhanced comfort and support. - **Fantasy-inspired Design:** Demand for furniture that is inspired by fantasy worlds and creates a sense of escapism for users. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity lies in designing and producing furniture that goes beyond traditional functionality and offers unique experiences. - **Interior Design:** New opportunities for incorporating enchanting and imaginative furniture designs in interior spaces to create captivating and enchanting environments. - **Entertainment and Theme Parks:** Possibility of integrating fantasy-inspired furniture like the flying carpet chair in theme park attractions and entertainment venues to enhance visitor experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Otherworldly Themed Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ufo-rocking.md) - [Responsive Recliner Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/davidhugh-aiora.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Transparent Floating Pool Loungers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funboy-super-clear-chaise-lounger.md) - [Space Travel-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerospace-seat-spn01.md) - [Illusory Disconnected Component Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fly-armchair.md) - [Suspenseful Statement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edgeofyr.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Fishing-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akos-huber.md)
