In reality the [tiny suspended house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-river-cabin), built by Czech firm H3T Architeckti, is more a design study than anything else. It's suspended from a bridge via several steel cables with a ladder providing access. The space is small, measuring around 43 square feet, and includes a sleeping loft. The Flying Black House admittedly looks a bit creepy, but once you get over the potential scariness of living under a bridge, you begin to realize just what this space represents. People around the world are leaving rural and suburban areas in favor of cities, a reverse migration which has contributed to housing crises and rising rents worldwide. The Flying Black House is an artistic reminder that the solution to a [lack of housing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/affordable-housing-prototype) may sometimes be an unconventional, less-is-more approach. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Suspended Mini Homes:** The trend of suspended mini homes represents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the housing industry. - **Design Studies:** The trend of design studies provides an opportunity for architects and designers to explore unconventional solutions for housing. - **Less-is-more Approach:** The trend of a less-is-more approach in housing encourages minimalism and sustainable living. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can embrace the trend of suspended mini homes and design studies to create unique and innovative housing solutions. - **Real Estate:** The real estate industry can explore the trend of suspended mini homes as a potential solution to housing crises and rising rents. - **Urban Planning:** The trend of a less-is-more approach in housing presents an opportunity for urban planners to create more sustainable and affordable living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Efficient Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hirondelle-tiny-house.md) - [Inversion Living Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-getaway.md) - [Elevated Treetop Modern Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buitenverblijf-nest.md) - [Tranquil Elevated Tiny Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-house.md) - [Forest-Treetop Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/more-cabin.md) - [Stilts-Reading Suspended Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hole-with-the-house-around.md) - [Spacious Light-Filled Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/long-black.md) - [War Plane-Inspired Off-Grid Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monocoque-cabin.md) - [Angular Black Cantilevered Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin.md)
