It happens to the best of us. The Fly Catcher Garbage Can provides an easy solution to solving your insect problem without the use of chemicals and [unsightly traps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thanos-home). Designed by Chang Shih-hsun and Hung Jui-yuan, the most important part of the product is the lid of the receptacle. The top of the [trash bin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trash-receptacles) actually comprises two separate parts that fasten together easily. Beneath the cap is a shallow dish, and it's between these components that the bugs become caught and die. Both pieces have really tiny holes in them that make it simple to enter the chamber but extremely difficult to exit it once more. The Fly Catcher Garbage Can subtly lets out the smell of waste to attract the flies, but forbids traffic in the opposite direction. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Chemical-free Insect Control:** The development of insect-trapping receptacles without the use of chemicals and unsightly traps provides disruptive innovation opportunities in the pest control industry. - **Smart Trash Bins:** Creating smart trash bins with insect-trapping capabilities could disrupt the waste management industry and promote a cleaner and healthier environment. - **Innovative Insect Trapping Technology:** Incorporating advanced technology and materials in insect-trapping receptacles can offer disruptive innovation opportunities for the home and kitchen appliance industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pest Control:** Insect-trapping receptacles provide opportunities for disruptive innovation in the pest control industry by offering a chemical-free solution to insect problems. - **Waste Management:** Insect-trapping trash bins can disrupt the waste management industry by providing a cleaner and healthier environment for homes and cities. - **Home and Kitchen Appliances:** Innovation in insect-trapping technology can offer disruptive opportunities for home and kitchen appliance manufacturers to create sustainable and safe products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flying Insects Light Traps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insects-light-trap.md) - [Smart Home Insect Traps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zevo-flying-insect-trap.md) - [Rodent-Preventative Trash Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/group-project.md) - [Beer Can Mosquito Traps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coors-light-can.md) - [Chic Utilitarian Trash Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carden-the-twin.md) - [Indoor Plant Pest Control Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safers-sticky-stiks-insect-trap.md) - [Automated Anti-Odor Trash Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zita-square.md) - [Style-Conscious Anti-Insect Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosqo-bug-zapper.md) - [Chemical-Free Fly Repellent Fans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shooaway.md)
