# Upcycled Denim Waste Furniture The 'Fluff Stack' Furniture by Lenny Stopp is Eye-Catching By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2022-08-10 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluff-stack-furniture References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2022/08/10/fluff-stack-is-a-fluffy-furniture-set-made-from-denim-waste/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fluff-stack-is-a-fluffy-furniture-set-made-from-denim-waste) & [lennystopp.nl](https://www.lennystopp.nl/) The 'Fluff Stack' furniture has been designed by Lenny Stopp as an [upcycled set of home decor pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/re-up-side-tables) that maintain an unexpectedly rugged yet eye-catching form. The furniture collection includes three pieces in all -- a [stool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wu-series), side table and lamp -- which are all crafted using [denim waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archibald-denim) for the actual structure and form. This gives each of the furniture pieces a decidedly rustic and stylish form that makes use of an abundant resource: fashion waste. The 'Fluff Stack' furniture features a fluffy form thanks to the denim material used, which is highlighted rather than hidden to give each piece a truly one-of-a-kind appearance. The material consists of denim pulp that's paired with cornstarch and water to form an inherently durable design upon drying. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Upcycling Fashion Waste:** The trend of upcycling fashion waste into home decor pieces offers opportunities for sustainable product development and unique, eye-catching designs. - **Rustic Sustainable Furniture:** The trend of using unconventional materials for furniture, such as denim pulp and cornstarch, provides a disruptive innovation opportunity for sustainable and rustic home decor. - **Fluffy, Eye-catching Designs:** The trend towards emphasizing unconventional materials and eye-catching designs, such as the fluffy denim pulp used in the 'Fluff Stack' furniture collection, offers opportunities for unique and memorable product development. ### Who This Affects Most - **Fashion Industry:** The upcycling of fashion waste into home decor products represents a potential new market and revenue stream for fashion companies. - **Furniture Industry:** The use of unconventional and sustainable materials for furniture, such as denim pulp and cornstarch, offers a disruptive foothold in the highly competitive furniture market. - **Sustainable Design Industry:** The focus on sustainable and eco-friendly materials in the 'Fluff Stack' furniture collection creates potential opportunities for product development and partnerships between sustainable design brands and furniture companies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sustainable Felt Stack Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stacklab.md) - [Denim-Covered Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harry-nuriev.md) - [Denim-Adorned Furniture Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/denim-furniture1.md) - [Denim-Upholstered Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/denimupholstered-sofas.md) - [Oozing Cake-Like Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roll-furniture.md) - [Textile-Topped Table Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tumble-tables.md) - [3D-Printed Recycled Material Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loom-furniture-collection.md) - [Styrofoam Furniture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trashy.md) - [Upcycled Waste Material Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-furniture-design.md)
