# Ruby Bloom Basins The Flower Sink by GlassDesign Rinses Your Face with Morning Dew By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-10-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-sink-by-glassdesign References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/005731.html) & [glassdesign.it](http://www.glassdesign.it/) Art might be a mirror to nature, but when it comes to creating functional objects for the home, it's usually best to follow the lead of pieces like this Flower Sink by GlassDesign. It does not strive to copy the organic aesthetic in detail, but rather makes a bold visual statement as an artificial interpretation. The lovely calla lily with its [broad single petal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light) and its gracefully pendant pistil is recreated as a [beautiful bathroom basin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-washbasin) with a suspended stigma as its exquisite faucet. The [gleaming tap](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faro-mixer) seems to be installed through the ceiling above, dangling down into the ruby red bowl with elegantly curving edges. A stout silver cylinder acts as a pedestal to the Flower Sink by GlassDesign, referencing the slender stem in a hold contemporary way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Artificial Interpretations of Nature:** Creating functional objects which make a bold visual statement as an artificial interpretation of natural objects lays the foundation for innovation in the field of home decor and design. - **Organic Aesthetics in Design:** Capturing the essence of organic aesthetics through imaginative design lays the foundation for disruptive innovations in bathroom and kitchen fixtures and furniture. - **Incorporating Nature in Design:** Incorporating nature-inspired elements in functional designs opens up new opportunities for innovation and creativity in home improvement and remodeling industries. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** The use of natural and organic elements in functional designs for home decor can lead to disruptive innovation in the industry. - **Bathroom Fixtures and Furniture:** Nature-inspired design concepts can lead to disruptive innovation in bathroom fixtures and furniture, offering consumers a new level of creativity and sophistication in their homes. - **Home Remodeling:** Incorporating nature-inspired elements in home remodeling projects can open up new opportunities for innovation and creativity in the industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Textural Bathroom Sink Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washbasin-collection.md) - [Illuminated Base Bathroom Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antoniolupi-albumelux.md) - [Angular Ceramic Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-washbasin.md) - [Dynamic Marble Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinito.md) - [Ultra-Modern Freestanding Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freestanding-sink.md) - [Water Flow-Inspired Kiln Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volta-collection.md) - [Playful Concrete Wash Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kast-wave-collection.md) - [Slick Bathroom Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slick-bathroom-sink.md) - [Artful Artisanal Marble Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handchiseled-marble-basin.md)
