# Decorative Hardware Fasteners Masaharu Ono's Flower Nail Appeals to Women Builders By Meghan Young | Published 2012-04-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-nail References: [inspire.2ia.pl](http://inspire.2ia.pl/post/20159712056/flower-nails-by-masaharu-ono) & [bytrico](http://www.bytrico.com/item/raumgestalt/rg34.html) The Flower Nail may be a decorator’s answer to [plain and manly hardware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profile-collection) that is not in the slightest bit stylish. It also provides a fun enticement for women who are interested in stereotypically male professions and hobbies. While something like a Flower Nail may defeat the purpose of satisfying such interests, it does provide a feminine twist to the masculine dominated arena. As its name strongly suggests, the Flower Nail is shaped like a flower. Created by Japanese product designer Masaharu Ono, the Flower Nail comes in packs of six. Since it has a sturdiness to it that equally pretty pins lack, the Flower Nail can replace the typical hook while adding to the overall interior decor of a home or office. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Decorative Fasteners:** Designing fasteners with aesthetic appeal, specifically for use in interior design. - **Feminine Hardware:** Creating decorative and stylish hardware targeted towards women in male-dominated professions and hobbies. - **Aesthetic Interior Design:** Incorporating decorative hardware fasteners into interior design as a key piece of aesthetic appeal. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Development of decorative and innovative hardware fasteners provides possibilities for unique and aesthetically pleasing interior designs. - **Construction:** The production of decorative feminine hardware fasteners can provide construction companies with a competitive edge. - **Product Design:** The development of innovative and decorative hardware fasteners can be a novel area for product designers to explore. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Book-Shaped Toolkits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hot-girl-toolkit.md) - [Modular Nail Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modul.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Artist-Inspired Flower Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belgiandesigner.md) - [DIY Nail Art Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-nailbot.md) - [Bright Whimsical Home Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blue-balcony.md) - [DIY LED Flower Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floled.md) - [Color-In Press-On Nails](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tipzy.md) - [Children's Beauty Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olive-june1.md)
