Flow Machines is a research and deployment project by [Sony CSL](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/viture-pro-2) and [University Pierre](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/research-centre) and Marie CURIE that has proved to play an important part of arts and music innovation. Today, the project is kept alive by Sony CSL and [Sony Music Entertainment Japan Inc.](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wolverine-battle-yellow) Consumers can take a listen to a demo reel on the project's website.

Flow Machines' main part is the Flow Machines Professional—an AI-assisted music composing system. Creators who are using the platform can generate a bass, chord, and melody. Flow Machines cannot create this by itself and as a result, is merely a tool for bringing someone's vision to life. Thereafter, the process of composing feeds back into the traditional model of music production, meaning that musicians will have to arrange the composition with DAW, put lyrics, record it, mix it, and then master it.
