The staircase is the centerpiece as it is defined by [sinuous curves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cereus-house) which connect the levels of the home. It is the residence home to a ceramicist which extends the building at the rear side and top section to add more space for the family. The team shared, "Narrowed interstitial spaces enclose, creating a feeling of compression, then open to larger spaces with lofty ceilings." The studio principal Heather Dubbeldam added, "Curvilinear forms are employed throughout – arched openings between rooms incite anticipation as they frame views of what lies beyond, resonating with curved walls, display nooks, the kitchen island and banquette – further enhancing the house's sculptural sensibility."
