The company designs smoke detectors specifically to be placed in [kids rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/babyfirst-brand), decorating them with cute cartoon images to make them a friendly face rather than a stern, clinical reminder. Flow Amsterdam currently offers several different smoke detector models aimed for operation in kids' bedrooms. 'Gustaf' is an adorable monkey, Rosie and Mister Owl are two calming owl-like creatures, and the Nidal is a detector shaped like a birdhouse. Each device includes standard safety features like an [85 decibel alarm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-detection-and-suppression), a manual test button, and compliance with European Standard for smoke alarms (i.e. EN14604). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Child-friendly Fire Detectors:** Designing fire detectors specifically for children's rooms, incorporating cute cartoon images to make them more approachable and comforting. - **Personalized Home Safety Products:** Creating customized safety devices for different areas of the home, tailored to specific needs and preferences. - **Innovative Smoke Detector Designs:** Exploring creative and unique shapes for smoke detectors, going beyond the traditional design to appeal to different audiences. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Safety:** Developing innovative products and solutions to enhance safety and security in residential settings. - **Children's Products:** Integrating safety features into children's products, prioritizing their well-being and creating a positive user experience. - **Interior Design:** Collaborating with designers to incorporate safety devices seamlessly into home interiors, merging functionality and aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bird-Like CO2-Monitoring Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdie-1.md) - [Smart Smoke Alarms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smoke-carbon-monoxide-alarm.md) - [Playful Medical Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zoobree-nebulizer.md) - [Smart Home Smoke Detectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoey-smoke-detector.md) - [Easy-to-Use Fire Extinguishers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agni-fire-extinguisher-redesign.md) - [Playfully Designed Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/willy.md) - [Toy-Like Duck-Inspired Thermometers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ducky-thermometer.md) - [Nursery-Friendly Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airo-air-purifier.md) - [Retro Appliance Baby Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smeg-baby-monitor.md)
