American design studio [Rafael Viñoly Architects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/place-vendme) unveils a look at its plans for the international terminal at Italy's Florence Airport. It is defined by a vineyard addition and takes over a large 50,000 square meter space. Some of the defining features that have now been confirmed include the [large sloped roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portland-airport) which is going to be lined with skylights and 38 rows of [usable vineyards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quinta-de-adorigo).

The studio speaks about the design process and how it stands out, stating "Unique to the new terminal will be a 19-acre (7.7 hectares) vineyard that gently slopes upward to embrace the sky-lit airport terminal. A leading vintner from the region will cultivate the vineyards, and the wine will be crafted and aged in specialized cellars beneath the terminal's roof."
