As its name suggests, this photo shoot revolves around stunning x-rays of flowers. It turns these [pretty plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-preservation) into [two dimensional, transparent versions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearcam) of their former selves. Shot by Singapore-based fine art photographer Brendan Fitzpatrick, the Floral X-rays photo series demonstrates his affinity for [mixed media collages](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti) and science fiction illustrations in addition to photography. The Floral X-rays series is fragilely futuristic and artistically rendered. It also embodies the photographer's appreciation for the art form's stillness and dynamism. Using a digital x-ray system to capture the images, Fitzpatrick then edited and color corrected them in Photoshop. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Floral X-rays:** The use of digital x-ray systems to create transparent images of flowers presents an opportunity for innovative artistic creations. - **Mixed Media Collages:** Combining multiple art forms like x-rays, science fiction illustrations, and photography can create unique and visually stunning artwork. - **Digital Editing in Photography:** The ability to edit and color correct x-ray images in software like Photoshop allows for endless creative possibilities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Fine Art:** The Floral X-rays series showcases a new form of fine art that merges science with artistry. - **Photography:** Digital x-ray technology presents a new tool for photographers to experiment and create unique works of art. - **Medical Technology:** The use of digital x-ray technology in photography could lead to the development of new medical imaging equipment and techniques. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [Floral-Inspired Sculptural Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-power.md) - [Storytelling Floral Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-xline-floral-series.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Stunning Dried Flower Arrangements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/east-olivia.md) - [Photography Project Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md) - [Shadow-Inspired Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightware-series.md)
