# Porch-Inspired Perches The Flora Sun Deck Chair is a Fitting Backyard Bench By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-09-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flora-sun-deck-chair References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/005488.html) & [flora-online.de](http://www.flora-online.de/gb/products/produkte.html?ds=produkte-Sun_Deck-SUN_DECKx) Furnishing your porch is a bigger deal than it may first seem, since the items that you choose will be in full sight of your neighbors. The Flora Sun Deck Chair presents a contemporary and practical perch that looks chic but not too showy. As great as those outdoor sofas are, everyone knows they cost a fortune, where this piece has an admirable modesty without looking too ordinary. The seat and the ottoman have been designed with your back deck in mind, as they are assembled from a series of wooden slats and braced with fluid metal frames. To add to its exemplary features, Michael Koenig made the Flora Sun Deck Chair incredibly versatile. It is both a recliner lounger and an upright chair, and it's been constructed with the durability to survive outside through all seasons. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modest Outdoor Furniture:** There is a growing trend in the market for outdoor furniture that is stylish and practical without being overly expensive or showy. - **Versatile Outdoor Seating:** The demand for outdoor seating options that can serve multiple purposes, such as being a recliner lounger and an upright chair, is increasing. - **Durable All-weather Designs:** There is a rising interest in outdoor furniture that is constructed with materials and designs that can withstand all seasons and weather conditions. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers in the furniture industry have an opportunity to create affordable and stylish outdoor furniture that fits well in any backyard or porch setting. - **Home Decor and Gardening Retail:** Retailers specializing in home decor and gardening products can capitalize on the trend of versatile outdoor seating by offering a wide range of options to consumers. - **Outdoor Living and Patio Design:** Professionals in outdoor living and patio design can explore innovative materials and construction techniques to create durable and weather-resistant furniture for customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Quick-Dry Patio Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-lounge-chair.md) - [Retro Outdoor High Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/high-armchair.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peace-outdoor-lounge.md) - [Versatile Beach Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versatile-beach-chair.md) - [Modernized Water-Friendly Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soleil-adirondack-chair.md) - [Revived Summer-Ready Furniture Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adirondack.md) - [Durable Designer Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeo-x-series-chair.md) - [Industrial Exterior Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osier-lounge-chair.md) - [Vibrant Outdoor Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/metal-peacock-garden-bench.md)
