# Flowerpot Chandeliers ‘Flora' Lighting Installation Elevates Your Indoor Garden By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2009-04-11 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flora-chandelier References: [dvice](http://dvice.com/archives/2009/04/flora-plant-cha.php) & [archiportale](http://www.archiportale.com/prodotti/tredici-design/lampadario/flora-gumdesign_8239.html) This ‘[Flora](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flora-collection)’ chandelier is designed by Gumdesign for Tredici, and it’s set to be on display at Milan’s [Salone Internazionale del Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olev-silence-lamp-collection) at the end of this month. The [metal and glass chandelier](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salsa-chandelier) is both plant pot and lighting installation. Depending upon the plants you place in the ‘Flora’ chandelier, your finished piece could be colorful or drab, macabre or cheerful. The gallery above shows some of the different ways the ‘Flora’ chandelier can look. Although my personal favorite is the ivy one, the cactus version is pretty badass too. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Chandelier Planters:** The combination of lighting installation and plant pot in this product presents an opportunity for the interior design industry to leverage eco-friendly home decor and lighting design. - **Green Lighting:** The concept of using plants as a source of light in indoor spaces for energy efficiency and aesthetics offers an opportunity for sustainable design and clean energy industries to develop and promote innovative eco-friendly products. - **Living Art:** The trend of incorporating living organisms such as plants into artwork and installations presents opportunities for the art industry to embrace natural materials, and for the plant industry to expand into vertical gardens and urban farming. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The combination of lighting installation and plant pot in this product presents an opportunity for the industry to leverage eco-friendly home decor and lighting design. - **Sustainable Design:** The concept of using plants as a source of light in indoor spaces for energy efficiency and aesthetics offers an opportunity for the industry to develop and promote innovative eco-friendly products. - **Art:** The trend of incorporating living organisms such as plants into artwork and installations presents opportunities for the industry to embrace natural materials, and for the plant industry to expand into vertical gardens and urban farming. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Wall Plant-Hangers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floos.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md) - [Italian-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flora-collection.md) - [Posh Plant-Supporting Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ample-plant-light-n1.md) - [DIY LED Flower Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floled.md) - [Disco-Inspired Hanging Planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/disco-ball-plant-hanger.md) - [Sculptural Contemporary Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volant.md) - [Plant-Supporting Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-growlight.md)
