# Spherical Steel Lamps The Moooi Floor Lights Feature a Modern Round Lattice Shape By M | Published 2016-04-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floor-lights References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2016/04/15/spherical-led-lamp-made-of-steel-strips/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [moooi](https://www.moooi.com/) The [Moooi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moooi) design team recently put together a series of [spherical floor lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comet-pendant) that offer an unconventional rounded shape that is often reserved for hanging fixtures for flat surfaces. The design is made using a series of curved steel wires arranged in a lattice formation with tiny LED lights speckled throughout. The design replicates the aesthetic of a starry sky to create an artistic and modern lamp for the home. The floor lamp's aesthetic is a piece that honors the designs of Raimond Puts with its contemporary and unique structuring that resembles the night sky. Rather than opting for a central bulb, the lamp features series of steel sheets that are wrapped around each other to create a ball. Each piece has dozens of tiny LED lights mounted onto it to replicate the look of brightly shining stars. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Spherical Lighting:** The trend of using spherical shapes for modern lighting fixtures creates an opportunity for innovative designs and unique lighting experiences. - **Lattice Formation:** The lattice formation technique in lighting fixtures creates an opportunity for unique structural designs and visual aesthetics in the lighting industry. - **LED Lights:** The trend of using LED lights in lighting fixtures creates an opportunity for energy-efficient and sustainable lighting solutions in the home and commercial spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Interior design professionals can utilize the trend of spherical lighting and lattice formations in their designs to create a unique and modern aesthetic for their clients. - **Lighting:** The lighting industry can capitalize on the trend of LED lights and innovative structuring techniques to create energy-efficient and visually appealing lighting fixtures for homes and commercial spaces. - **Home Decor:** The trend of spherical lighting and lattice formations in home decor creates an opportunity for innovative interior design solutions that incorporate unique lighting fixtures as decorative elements in a room. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Street Light-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-lamp-marble.md) - [Vibrant Dynamic Fastasia Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moooi.md) - [Sculptural Metal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape.md) - [Futuristic Totemic Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-relics.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md)
