New York firm [SCAPE](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manresa-island) is invited by the Resilient Boston Harbor's Landscape and Urban initative to create designs for a flood-protection project. This addresses the issue of climate change and sustaining life, both on the natural and urban level. The designs are based on knowledgeable predictions about the rising sea levels. SCAPE is being supported by Nitsch Engineering and consulting firm [Arcadis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arcadis) in developing viable and working concept designs to address the issue.

The flood-protection project will see an increased access to Boston's shoreline and waterfront, as well as some precautionary measures for at-risk buildings. This entails the raising of structures and adding features that will help with [flood-adaptation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grain-collective). In the above visualization by SCAPE, these features are depicted in vibrant green with pink connections to existing structures.
