Given climate change and the onset of rising sea levels, a floating residence is a smart and viable housing solution for coastal cities. Estonian company Kodasema stays one step ahead with its [prefabricated units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whidbey-puzzle-prefab) that are ideal for life on the water and can be easily transported from one place to another.

Dubbed the 'Koda Light Float,' the structure is a hybrid between a building and a boat. The floating residence is a compact dwelling that spans accross roughly 277 square feet, featuring a space for sleeping, living, and a separate bathroom. In addition, Kodasema's design also boasts a deck.

The floating residence is great for commercial use as well — it would make for an "ideal harbor café," among other things.
