# Adventurous Versatile Lounge Chairs The Flipster Seat by Wigiwama has Modular Forms By Amy Duong | Published 2025-04-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat References: [wigiwama](https://wigiwama.com/collections/flipster) The [Flipster](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster) seat system designed by [Wigiwama](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wigiwama) channels elements of comfort and play. It is a versatile lounge chair that transforms into a fold-out bed for multiple functions. It encourages users to use it for relaxation or exploration as Flipster aims to tap into a childlike feeling. This is essentially an evolved version of the brand's Flip chair, which offers the same multifunctionality with a smaller footprint. The larger size allows it to transition into a chair and an extended lounger. The silhouette is inspired by geometric shapes and [Bauhaus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/js-thonet) notions. There are three components that make up the chair: the base, the backrest, and a lumbar cushion as the pillow. Mark Litvyakov, Wigiwama’s in-house product designer noted, “For me, simple shapes are the key to achieving timeless elegance. The biggest challenge was to ensure Flipster maintains comfort and adaptability across all its uses – from seating to playing and sleeping. I believe it excels, particularly as an extra bed for sleepovers.” Image Credit: Wigiwama ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 39% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Furniture Design:** Furniture that seamlessly transforms between different functions is redefining space utilization in modern homes. - **Geometric Aesthetic Revival:** Designs drawing inspiration from geometric forms and Bauhaus principles are bringing a touch of modern elegance and nostalgia. - **Childlike Experience in Adult Products:** Products that evoke playfulness and exploration are resonating with consumers seeking joy in their daily environments. ### Where This Applies - **Home Furniture and Design:** The sector is being transformed by modular and multifunctional furniture pieces designed for smaller, flexible living spaces. - **Interior Design Innovation:** Interior designers are increasingly incorporating versatile, sleek, and aesthetically appealing furniture to maximize space utility. - **Lifestyle and Leisure:** The drive towards multifunctionality is meeting consumer demand for leisurely, adaptable, and aesthetically pleasing spaces at home. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Upholstered Bright Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster.md) - [Moon-Inspired Modular Seating Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wigiwama.md) - [Naturalistic Grass-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-flip-chair.md) - [Transforming Child Stool Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipflap-childrens-chair.md) - [Modular Seating Design Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pla-modular-chair.md) - [Shapeshifting Office-Ready Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/egoitaliano-smirk.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md) - [Comforting Adaptable Sofa Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bird-reincarnation-3way-sofa-bed.md) - [Vibrant Chaise Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versarest.md)
