The Softwall + Softblock modular system uses a special folding technique that allows the fixture to fold up or stretch out like an accordion. Made of lightweight materials, the Softwall is easily adjustable and even portable. Strung with a ribbon of LED lights, the installation beautifully illuminates on demand. The flexibility of the Softwall is ideal for regularly reshaping living or office spaces. The installation stretches out to 4.5 meters in length and 3 meters in height, but also compresses to half a centimeter in thickness. The shapes can be customized to fit different occasions. The creators provide a thorough 52-paged PDF file for instructions. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flexible Modular Systems:** There is an opportunity to develop innovative modular systems that can be easily adjusted and customized for various purposes. - **Multi-functional Lighting Fixtures:** Create versatile lighting fixtures that can serve as room dividers, ambient lamps, and decorative 3D pieces to add both functionality and aesthetics to spaces. - **Portable Illumination Solutions:** Develop lightweight and portable lighting solutions that can be easily moved and installed in different locations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Incorporating flexible modular systems and multi-functional lighting fixtures can revolutionize the way interior spaces are designed and utilized. - **Lighting:** The lighting industry can explore opportunities to create innovative, portable, and versatile illumination solutions for both residential and commercial settings. - **Furniture:** Integrating flexible modular systems into furniture designs can offer customizable and adaptable solutions for modern homes and offices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shape-Shifting Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moodi.md) - [Modular Wax Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-soft-solids.md) - [Structural Modular Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-one-table.md) - [Infinitely Expandable Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cube-one-table-lamp.md) - [Modular Dynamic Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonside-neon-hex.md) - [Unconventional Modular Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-kaleido-series.md) - [Reconfigurable Modular Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gioco.md) - [Customizable Acoustic Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizble-acoustic-lighting-system.md) - [Customizable Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-magnetic-lamp.md)
