The rack is comprised of a series of flat metal sheets that are folded and bound together using tacks. The surface provides a shelf that can be used to hold a large quantity of reading material and keep the items organized if owning a shelf occupies too much space in the residence. The rack is designed by Chen Chen & Kai Williams for a brand called Good Thing as a cost-effective solution to organizing magazines. The shelf can really be used for a variety of flat objects such as books or records, while the matte black colorway allows the piece to fit seamlessly into a variety of decors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Flat-pack Furniture:** Designing furniture that can be easily assembled and disassembled provides convenience and cost-effectiveness for consumers. - **Minimalistic Organization:** Creating minimalistic storage solutions allows consumers to efficiently organize their belongings in small spaces. - **Versatile Shelving Solutions:** Designing shelves that can hold a variety of flat objects provides flexibility for consumers with different storage needs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Innovative furniture designers can explore creating flat-pack furniture as a disruptive solution for consumers. - **Home Organization:** Entrepreneurs in the home organization industry can develop minimalistic storage solutions to cater to consumers living in small spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate versatile shelving solutions into their designs to provide functional and stylish options for clients with diverse storage needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Single-Piece Wooden Magazine Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skola.md) - [Folded Metal Sheet Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldy.md) - [Versatile Book Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Storage-Friendly Origami Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-kerf.md) - [Flat-Packed Sleek Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurea.md) - [Modular Bent-Metal Storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sfso-1.md) - [Adaptable Flat-Pack Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-pack-shelving.md) - [Compact Functional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table.md)
