# Practical Clock Posters Flat Time by Finn Magee Boasts a 7-Segment LED Display By Meghan Young | Published 2012-10-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-time References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/finn-magee-posters) & [finnmagee](http://www.finnmagee.com/index.php?/flat-life/flat-time/) Posters can be as practical as they can be artistic, but they often relay static information that pertains to a specific day and time; Flat Time, on the other hand, is much more versatile. A [minimalist poster](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-alarm-clock), Flat Time features a picture of a [retro digital clock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minitoo-retro-pc-style). The kicker is that this clock tells the actual time thanks to some slim mechanics behind the poster. Designed by United Kingdom-based Finn Magee, the Flat Time poster hangs on the wall like a typical print. Unlike a typical print, however, it is equipped with a [7-segment LED display](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dozen-clock) that tells the time in bright red numbers. A black wire extends from the back as though coming right off of the page. A limited edition of 50, Flat Time is for those with an imagination. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 70% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Versatile Posters:** Innovative and versatile posters are becoming popular, allowing for interactive engagement and unique experiences for viewers. - **Minimalist Clock Designs:** Clock designs are becoming more minimalistic and innovative, allowing for practical time-telling while also serving as art pieces. - **Interactive Artwork:** Interactive artworks are becoming more popular, allowing for a unique and personal experience for each viewer. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** With the rise of versatile and interactive posters, interior designers now have access to unique and customizable art pieces to incorporate into their designs. - **Home Decor:** Minimalist clock designs offer both practical and artistic value, which is an opportunity for home decor companies to create innovative products that fit seamlessly in modern homes. - **Advertising:** Interactive artwork can be used by advertisers to create more memorable and personalized campaigns that engage viewers in a unique way. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illuminated LED Artwork Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-poster.md) - [Concentric Timezone Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-wall-clock.md) - [Retro Pastel Flip Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-flip-clock.md) - [Barebones Retro-Inspired Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloudnola-flip-clock.md) - [Venn Diagram Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jetlag-clock.md) - [Minimal Sculptural Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trace-line.md) - [Literature-Displaying Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/author-clock.md) - [Linearly Formed Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-clock-concept.md) - [Retro Digital Flip Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-clock1.md)
