# Halloween Pyro Pumpkins Flamethrowing Jack-O'-Lantern Lights Up Epically By Matt Ho | Published 2011-10-29 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flamethrowing-jack-o-lantern References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/flamethrower-jack-o-lantern/) & [instructables](http://www.instructables.com/id/Flamethrowing-Jack-O-Lantern/) I've seen a lot of [epic Halloween pumpkins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chomps-snackolantern), but the Flamethrowing Jack-O'-Lantern may have them all beat. Richard Sarafan has provided instructions on his very epic Flamethrowing Jack-O'-Lantern. From a distance, it looks like any other pumpkin on a doorstep, but push a trigger and this bad boy will throw up pyro like it's an 80s hair metal concert. Of course, a DIY project like this will take patience and time to build. Those who are interested will require parts that include WD40, SPST 5V relay, 9V battery snap, 10K resistor and more. Sarafan advises readers to not proceed with the project because he really put up the instructions for entertainment purposes only. It's definitely dangerous, so hold your grudge against [pumpkin-smashing teenagers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ring-candy-cam). Trust me, there are less dangerous ways to deal with them. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Halloween Decorations:** Create instructions or kits for DIY Halloween decorations - **Pyrotechnics for Entertaining:** Develop safe and controlled ways of incorporating pyrotechnics into entertainment - **Alternative Halloween Jack-o'-lanterns:** Design and manufacture alternative ways of decorating pumpkins for Halloween ### Who This Affects Most - **Consumer Electronics:** Incorporate pyrotechnics into consumer electronics in a safe manner - **Entertainment & Events:** Provide entertainment services featuring controlled pyrotechnics for events - **Seasonal Decor:** Design and manufacture alternative seasonal decorations for holidays such as Halloween ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stacking Pumpkin Display Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pumpkin-stacking-kit.md) - [Halloween-Ready Animatronic Line-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halloween-animatronics.md) - [Seasonal Jack-O-Lantern Liqueurs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pumpkin-potion-liqueur.md) - [Product-Inspired Halloween Looks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aldi-and-elladoesfx.md) - [Jack-o’-lantern Pizzas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jackolantern-pizza.md) - [Animated Show-Inspired Butane Torches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/butane-torch.md) - [Halloween-Inspired Pumpkin Beers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/possessed-pumpkin-beer.md) - [Autumn-Themed Lighter Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spooky-special-edition-series-lighters.md) - [Family-Friendly Halloween Essentials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oriental-trading.md)
