With this visual in mind, handyman Colin Furze decided to create his own [DIY version](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-diwheel) of the dangerous device. Although its not recommended that everyone build a flamethrower guitar for safety reasons, Colin Furze's instructions make it a very enticing idea. The design uses a smoke machine, strobe lights, a welder, circle saw and much more -- making it a project exclusive to adults who know their way around a tool shed. The instructions ask that you drill holds into an [electric guitar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voltage-davinci) to allow smoke to flow through it dramatically via a tube that goes down its neck, as well as dismantling it to include the strobe lights. The end result is an incredibly bright, flashing, smoke-filled flamethrower guitar. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY Flamethrower Trends:** The trend for DIY flamethrower projects inspired by popular culture, such as Mad Max, is growing as people look to create unique and visually striking music equipment. - **Flamethrower Safety Innovations:** In response to the popularity of flamethrower DIYs, innovators in safety equipment could provide better fireproof clothing and flame-proof casing for electrical equipment. - **Virtual Flamethrower Guitar Tools:** With the growing popularity of flamethrower guitars, there is potential for the development of online tools that allow users to create a virtual simulation of their DIY project before starting to build it. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Equipment Manufacturing:** As demand for more visually unique instruments grows, music equipment manufacturers could create safer and more innovative types of flamethrower guitars. - **Safety Equipment Manufacturing:** In response to the potential hazards of flamethrower guitars, safety equipment manufacturers could create new types of clothing and equipment that provides the necessary safety features from flames and fire. - **Online DIY Communities:** Online DIY communities focused on unique projects such as flamethrower guitars could create more online tools and tutorials focused on creative visual and technological innovations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Recycled Guitar Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-guitar-1.md) - [Wooden DIY Guitar Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harley-benton.md) - [Carbon Fiber Smart Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lava-me-3.md) - [Monstrous Guitar Fuzz Pedals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fuzz-pedals.md) - [Futuristic Abstract Musical Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeta-electric-guitar.md) - [Effect-Emitting Guitar Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guitar-gadgets.md) - [Electronic String Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harmoni.md) - [Digitized Guitar Whammy Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guitar-whammy-bar.md) - [Button-Activated Guitar Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rockdreamer-guitarbar.md)
