# Jenga-Like Organizers The Fjaril Drawer Opens Up to Reveal a Whimsical Structure By Leslie Chen | Published 2012-01-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fjaril-drawer References: [jjoergensen.dk](http://www.jjoergensen.dk/?page=work&id=fjarill) & [jjoergensen.dk](http://www.jjoergensen.dk/?page=work) Drawers are a necessity in keeping all your clothes and knick knacks in order, but they can sometimes be less than interesting to look at; the Fjaril Drawer magically reinvents this organizational design for the modern world. Designer Jakob Jorgensen has created the Fjaril Drawer, which he describes as full of rhythm and a movement that "changes itself from a simple box into a [functional sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table)," according to his website. The Fjaril Drawer looks like a normal storage object that will open in a straight line towards you, but it actually expands in all different directions to create a [Jenga](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cenga-coffee-set)-like structure. The Fjaril Drawer is currently being sold as a limited edition item in Paris. You'll begin to wish you had more clothes to fold just so you can see the Fjaril Drawer's blooming action at work. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Jenga-like Organizers:** Opportunity for designers to create new and whimsical storage solutions using unconventional shapes and structures. - **Functional Sculptural Organizers:** The blend of function and aesthetics in organizers provides opportunities for creativity and innovation. - **Expandable Storage Units:** Expanding storage units that take up minimal space offer convenience and minimize clutter. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can create innovative storage solutions that reflect the blend of function and aesthetics that consumers demand. - **Home Organization:** The expanding storage unit innovation in the Fjaril Drawer presents opportunities for organizers in various home settings. - **Limited Edition Manufacturing:** The use of limited edition units in high-end markets increases exclusivity and potential for luxury branding. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Winged Storage Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flutterbox.md) - [Compact Steel Storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multidrawer.md) - [Modern Modular Desk Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firki.md) - [Color-Centric Modular Drawers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floyd.md) - [Adaptable Organizer Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-square-organizer.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Playful Rotating Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giralot-rotating-storage.md) - [Clutter-Tackling Desk Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-desk-organizer.md) - [Colorful Modular Storage Sysem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/center-center-storage.md)
