[Fish Bellies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-gills) is a vibrantly luminescent public art installation that is meant not only to be admired, but also to be interacted with. In a way, it encourages people to channel their inner Geppetto by getting into the 'bellies' of these sea creatures. They might not be real whales, but with a little imagination, the Fish Bellies do provide a bit of adventure.

Created by designers Joe O’Connell + Blessing Hancock Public Art, the Fish Bellies public installation is located at the [Texas State University](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fidget-spinner-functionality) in San Marcos, Texas. Inspired by the social and biological diversity of the nearby San Marcos River, it is meant to draw attention to it amongst the student body. Made out of acrylic, the Fish Bellies are outfitted with touch-sensitive controllers.
