This fish and chips restaurant on London's High Street is a whimsical exploration of beach and maritime culture through the lens of British history. The playful space mixes vintage sketches of mythic sea creatures and fun details like fish & chips dishes served in sand buckets.
The new George’s Tradition Fish & Chips location on High Street was realized by multi-disciplinary firm Philip Watts Design, who aimed to deliver the right environment for a "first class fish and chips" experience. The space is a unique mixture of classic and modern British design that feels like a cross between an idyllic beach shack and a refined London clubhouse lounge. The restaurant is located in a sculptural Victorian English building that adds even more charisma to the dining experience.
