# Fireplace Storage Cabinets Davide Tonizzo's Fireplace Storage Unit Provides Warmth & More Space By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-09-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-storage-unit References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/fireplace-storage-units-davide-tonizzo/) & [designd-online](http://www.designd-online.com/home.html) This Fireplace Storage Unit designed by Davide Tonizzo draws its inspiration from the waterways and streets of Italy as part of the Midtown Collection. In an unusual combination, the furniture piece melds a [storage unit with a fireplace](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-designs), which is especially practical if you happen to have a [small living space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/next-mobile-unit). Although it might seem alarming that the design puts fire side-by-side to [pieces of wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet), the flame that comes from the side of the unit is only a virtual one, but it still does give off that warm and cozy look. The openness of the flame makes it possible for the table to be pushed against a wall or left as a centerpiece in a room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Virtual Fireplaces:** Opportunity for creating virtual fireplaces that provide warmth and ambiance without the need for a real flame. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Opportunity to design furniture pieces that combine storage solutions with other practical elements, such as a fireplace. - **Space-saving Design:** Opportunity for developing furniture designs that optimize space in small living areas, such as incorporating storage units with functional features. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities to create furniture pieces that offer multiple functionalities and optimize space in small living areas. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities to incorporate virtual fireplace technology into home decor products that provide warmth and ambiance. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities to integrate space-saving furniture designs, like fireplace storage units, into interior design concepts for small living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Communal Fireplace Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hearth-coffee-table.md) - [Mixed-Material Tabletop Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brasscene-harmony-flame-fireplace.md) - [Cooking-Friendly Outdoor Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/regg-surprise.md) - [Portable Cylindrical Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecosmart-fire-pillar-3t.md) - [Curvaceous Storage-Packed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/embrace-sideboard.md) - [Slick Modern Holographic Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holographic-fireplace.md) - [Built-In Storage Cozy Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cask-sofa.md) - [Eco-Friendly Bioethanol Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glammfire-contour.md) - [Ultra-Stylish Fireplace Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-accessories.md)
