# Fire Pit Seating The Fireplace Lounge Maximizes Heat and Comfort By Allison Love | Published 2010-06-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fireplace-lounge References: [bornrich.org](http://www.bornrich.org/entry/the-fireplace-lounge-to-face-the-winter-with-a-vengeance/) & [efdesign.jimdo](http://efdesign.jimdo.com/-/camini-bochka-ploskij/#) The fireplace lounge is a stylish new fireplace that helps to max out the heat fire omits by creating a [lounge styled area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venus-lounge) on top of the [fire pit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/billie-pit) itself. The idea behind the fireplace lounge was to give a “modern twist to the traditional fireplace” and “draw inspiration from the healing properties of fire.” Supposedly, people used to sleep above the fire to get the most out of the fire’s heat, but also because it provided healing properties. The fireplace lounge essentially looks to the past for its inspiration. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Maximizing Heat:** Opportunity to develop innovative fire pit designs that maximize heat output for enhanced comfort and functionality. - **Lounge Style:** Opportunity to create trendy fire pit seating designs that combine comfort and style for a more enjoyable outdoor experience. - **Healing Properties:** Opportunity to explore the integration of wellness features into fire pit seating designs, such as incorporating elements that promote relaxation and stress relief. ### Who This Affects Most - **Outdoor Furniture:** The outdoor furniture industry can leverage the trend of fire pit seating by developing innovative designs that enhance the overall outdoor living experience. - **Wellness:** The wellness industry can capitalize on the trend of fire pit seating by incorporating features that promote relaxation and wellness, such as integrating aromatherapy or massage elements. - **Hospitality:** The hospitality industry can embrace the trend of fire pit seating by incorporating stylish and functional fire pit seating in outdoor spaces of hotels, restaurants, and resorts to provide guests with a unique and cozy ambiance. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Functional Design-Conscious Fit Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiki-patio-smokeless-fire-pit.md) - [Heat-Spreading Fire Pit Attachments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solo-stove-heat-deflector.md) - [Elegant Firepit Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backyard-firepit.md) - [Cooking-Friendly Outdoor Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/regg-surprise.md) - [Convenient Personal Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-fireplace1.md) - [Smoke-Free Freestanding Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ninja-fireside360.md) - [Mixed-Material Tabletop Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brasscene-harmony-flame-fireplace.md) - [Slick Modern Holographic Fireplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holographic-fireplace.md) - [Floral-Inspired Concrete Fire Pits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunflower-fire-pit.md)
