The OLE robot is a product of the industrial-design studio at the [University of Magdeburg-Stendal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robot-falcon) in Germany. The OLE, which is [autonomous](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rbwatcher) and is guided by GPS, intelligent feelers, infrared and heat sensors, is equipped with tanks of water and powdered fire-extinguishing agents.

The armor of this [ladybug robot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-robot) is fireproof and it runs on wheels that are in contact with the ground and are better suited for detecting heat.

Here's another Ladybug robot:

**Implications** - Believe it or not, forest-fire experts like the idea of OLE robots, even though many believe it'll be a more effective. With forest fires in Europe burning roughly 1.25 million acres a year, the OLE robots are looking like more and more of an attractive prospect for buyers.
