Full of intricate spiraling lines that create a [sculptural cloud](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp), it hangs from the ceiling in a way that will inspire compliments and conversation. Once the latter begins, it does become necessary to reveal the inspiration behind the design. Designed by Aminimal Studio, the Field Test Lamp is a [decorative representation of the Earth's magnetosphere](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp), the region above the Ozone layer. Made out of laser-cut acrylic, it comes with a [half chrome mirrored bulb](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection), which helps to reflect the light back up through the lamp. The studio writes, "The shade holds a soft, incandescent glow that works as a centerpiece for every environment." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Scientific Lighting:** Opportunity to create decorative lighting inspired by scientific concepts and findings. - **Sculptural Design:** Opportunity to design lamps with intricate spiraling lines and sculptural clouds. - **Reflective Lighting:** Opportunity to use half chrome mirrored bulbs to enhance the reflection of light in lamps. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate scientifically inspired lighting into their designs. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor industry to offer unique lighting options with sculptural designs. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Opportunity for lighting manufacturers to create innovative lamps utilizing reflective materials and techniques. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar System-Inspired Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmooval.md) - [Cosmic-Inspired Lamp Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aureole.md) - [Calming Orb Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orb-lamp1.md) - [Astro-Inspired Sculptural Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elara-suspension.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Sleek Structural Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emotional-lab-light.md)
